Geography:

Jangaon is located at 17°43′N 79°11′E / 17.72°N 79.18°E / 17.72; 79.18.[1] It has an average elevation of 382 metres (1,253 ft).


Demographics:

As of 2001[update] India census,[2] Jangaon had a population of 100,270. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Jangaon has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 59%. In Jangaon, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.



Education:

Jangaon is one of the major educational centers in Warangal District. It comprises a good number of reputed schools, Intermediate, Degree and PG colleges, two Engineering colleges and four Pharmacy college and Seven B.Ed. Colleges.
Three Engineering Colleges namely Christu Jyoti institute of technology and science, Prasad Rao Engineering College and Vidya Bharati Institute of Technology.

Jangaon is well connected with rail and road routes. National highway 202, a State highway passes through the town. It is about 80 km away from the state capital, Hyderabad and 50 km away from warangal city.
